As a documentary image maker, I deal with taboos surrounding sexuality. I am interested in why we, as a Western society, see sexual taboos as a problem. With my work, I want to create more clarity and acceptance about topics such as vaginismus, the female orgasm and sexual relationships. These are important topics for me because I have many questions about my own sexual identity, using my own experiences as a starting point for my projects.
With this personal approach, I look for a deeper sense of uncertainty, ignorance and self-acceptance, adding an underlying humorous tone. With my projects I want to start the conversation about the different forms of sexuality, but in the meantime I also look for answers that can tell me more about my own perception of sexuality.
